Pot Shots
Officials in the U.S. are fuming over Canada's position on the war. The war on drugs, that is. Prime Minister Jean Chretien says Ottawa will soon introduce legislation to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana. We look at the long, strange history of cannabis in Canada; and debate the pros and cons of pot, and what to expect from the U.S.

Baghdad Kids
Back in January, freelance reporter Tara Sutton introduced us to some children in Baghdad, who shared their hopes and fears, as threats of war loomed on the horizon. We got an update on the kids, just before the bombs began to fall. In our third installment, Tara goes back to Baghdad to see how the children are doing now, and whether their hopes for the future have changed.
on this morning's show and it scared the shit out of me. we really should not have gone over there. the bush administration knew nothing about the culture over there and its values. at least, not enough to do a good job of it. the Arab world is the Arab world, America is something else, Europe is something else, etc etc.
ìt just makes me fume to realize just to what extent the Bush administration fucked over en entire country. of course it's for oil. of course it's for money.
but more importantly, Bush and Company just viciously and unflinchingly RAPED an entire COUNTRY and its PEOPLE for its oil and to christianize its population through its new set of politics.
funny how so little importance was given to the actual people living there (btw, did ya see any interview with iraqi citizens on american tv? and not soundbytes, interviews. no. they had no face. they had no personality. the american media made a huge fucking mistake in just letting the Bush administration unaccountable for anything in this barbaric invasion).
it's even more infuriating now that no weapons of mass destruction are found (hey, it's been a fucking month already!! and they supposedly control the entire country). saddam hussein and his regime posed no immediate threat to the United States.
why doesn't the major american media cover this? of course threads are showing more and more but no one's pointing a finger at the Bush administration for this major fuck-up.
