a broken lull.

the Montreal Canadiens finally signed Andrei Markov back into the club. just over $20M over 4 years. i am ecstatic. i knew he would sign back but this is great news because we gave him his worth. despite the outstanding offensive year Souray had, Markov is our top defenseman and i was hoping Gainey wouldn't get blindsided. (now Bob's on to Souray's contract. i don't want him signed long-term and i hope to god it's nothing about $4M a year.)

in more personal news, i haven't written in a bit because of the new girlfriend. we're simply spending every waking hours of the weekend together. and it feels great. so i've had way less time than usual to update the blog, and i also don't see the point of writing 'i'm with the girlfriend and it's going swell' every day or so :) i hope you're all doing well. talk to you soon.

man, this is turning out to be a great week for music news (for me, at least). hot on the heels of the new Garbage song and video leak, we learn that Butch Vig will be producing The Subways' next album (i loved their debut).

also, if you know where to look, you can easily track down the Smashing Pumpkins' first single, Tarantula, off the Zeitgeist album. (site seems to be down for now.) rock on.

i am not dead. (really, i'm not.) i just spent another wonderful weekend with the girlfriend. it's kind of odd how comfortable we are with each other. really sweet. that's it. just wanted to update you guys. i hope you're all having a great day.

i hope everyone's having a good sunday. it's beautiful out here. no apparent cloud in the sky. on to business. well, after spending the entire day together yesterday, visiting the wonderful Disney exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, catching Grindhouse (a bit overlong but lotsa fun), and having a general blast on a great, sunny saturday walking around through downtown Montreal, the girl magically turned into the girlfriend :D it felt a bit weird to finally arrive at that point, to be there after so much thought over the past couple of weeks. but here we are. it's still in the early stages, of course, but she's also looking forward to a serious relationship. i wasn't sure because we'd never talked about it but i asked her last night and she calmed my fears. i now have a girlfriend;) i am now part of a couple. thanks to everyone (especially you, Kyle! your help was greatly appreciated). have a great day.

omg. Chuck Palahniuk's Choke, which i am, i believe, re-reading at the moment, is set to go into production in June!!! not only that but Sam Rockwell is set to star !!! oh fuck. and the director? first-time director Clark Gregg. no fucking clue who that was. until they mentioned he was an actor on The New Adventures Of Old Christine !!! :) and yes, he's Christine's ex! love him. he also wrote the screenplay. holy fucking hell. this could be really good. thank heavens it's not being done by hacks. i'm always amazed when Chuck's books get optioned with some real talent on-board because they're not the most pc books out there :)
